Taubenberger presents Aspite Auto Auction with Council citation

City Councilman Al Taubenberger (R-at large) last week presented a citation to Aspite Auto Auction, 7000 State Road.

Geromino “Jerry” Aspite Sr., who learned his car skills in the U.S. Army, opened an auto body shop on the 1600 block of Margaret St. in Frankford in 1960.

In 1980, he opened Aspite Auto Auction on the 3800 block of E. Thompson St. in Port Richmond.

Aspite Auto Auction has been on State Road since 1992. The company has auctioned Philadelphia Parking Authority vehicles for 25 years, and has also kept city streets clean by towing tens of thousands of abandoned vehicles.

Today, his two sons, Jerry Jr. and Antonio, are second-generation operators of the company. ••
